About project

The client is a leading provider of cutting-edge financial information, software, and media services, known for their advanced technology solutions. Their flagship product is an industry-standard platform offering real-time data, news, and analytics to financial professionals, empowering them to make informed decisions and execute trades with precision. With a strong focus on innovation, the client develops state-of-the-art tools that integrate data from various financial markets, providing sophisticated charting, economic forecasting, and comprehensive communication features. As part of the team, you will work with the client's product and platform engineering teams to create reliable, repeatable, and performant infrastructure, as well as facilitate product deployments into that infrastructure. The primary focus is within the public cloud, primarily utilizing AWS, with a subset of existing resources run in Azure. Engineers must be familiar with cloud-native approaches, including but not limited to infrastructure-as-code, continuous integration, and continuous deployment. The security of the environment is paramount. The ability to work well with others across the organization is highly desired.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable backend and full-stack solutions using Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Design and implement cloud-native services and deployment workflows in AWS.
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and automated infrastructure.
  • Ensure system security, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with product and platform teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with strong hands-on experience in Node.js (backend-focused development).
  • Strong AWS expertise, including EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, ECS/EKS, and related cloud services.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience building automated pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native principles, microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with version control (Git) and agile development practices.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Java or other strongly-typed backend languages.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) — schema design, optimization, and querying.
  • Exposure to Azure or other cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and best practices.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
